Elephant Square stands at the heart of a major junction that has served as a central transport hub for London for centuries. It was created by removing a section of a busy northern roundabout to reclaim space for pedestrians and public life. This transformation merged a former traffic island with the site of a landmark shopping center that was once the first of its kind in Europe.
