Colonial and Indian Exhibition

In the spring of 1886, the area around South Kensington transformed into a sprawling stage for the Colonial and Indian Exhibition. Queen Victoria inaugurated this massive display, which aimed to showcase the sheer scale and reach of the British Empire to over five million visitors.
