Ready Money Drinking Fountain, Regents Park

The Ready Money Drinking Fountain stands as a striking, four-sided Gothic landmark near the center of the Broad Walk. It was a gift from the wealthy Parsee businessman Sir Cowasji Jehangir, who was commonly known by the nickname Ready Money. He commissioned this structure in eighteen sixty-nine as a gesture of gratitude toward the British people for the protection his fellow Parsee community received while living in colonial India.
