Statue of the Duke of Kent

This bronze sculpture of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, stands at the southern end of the Park Crescent gardens. Unveiled in 1824, the figure depicts the prince in his formal Field Marshal uniform, complete with the regalia of the Order of the Garter. You can see him standing on a solid granite pedestal, positioned to face toward the open space of Regent's Park. The monument was funded not by the royal purse, but through public subscriptions gathered by charities the Duke supported during his life, including significant contributions from his fellow Freemasons.
