Kensington Court Gardens

Kensington Court Gardens stands as a prominent Victorian mansion block, finished in eighteen eighty-nine. Its name is a historical irony because the building possesses no garden at all. Developers constructed the complex during a wave of middle-class housing projects on land that had previously been occupied by notorious slums and, before that, a tennis club. The architecture features an elaborate Queen Anne Revival style, complete with Dutch gables and brickwork detailing that includes carved sunflowers and pomegranates.
