Leighton House

Leighton House is a striking red brick residence that hides a private world of extreme opulence behind its modest Kensington exterior. It served as the lifelong project of the Victorian painter and Royal Academy president Frederic Leighton, who spent thirty years transforming the property into his personal palace of art. While the exterior follows the familiar architecture of a nineteenth century townhouse, the interior breaks every rule of conventional domestic design to reflect Leighton's artistic obsession and his extensive travels across the Middle East.
