Prince's Gardens

Prince's Gardens sits on land that was once part of the sprawling Brompton Park Nursery. In the middle of the nineteenth century, the developer Sir Charles James Freake acquired this site and transformed it into an enclave of grand, Italianate stucco mansions. These homes were designed as complete family mansions, often containing thirty rooms and including specific quarters for a large staff of servants, as well as dedicated mews streets for stabling and coach houses.
