The Frontline Club occupies a building that began its life in the nineteenth century as a workshop for horse-drawn hackney carriages. Later, it served as an ironmonger before founder Vaughan Smith, a veteran conflict journalist, purchased the dilapidated space. He transformed the structure into a hub for independent news gatherers who previously lacked a dedicated home base in London.
