Soho Theatre

The Soho Theatre building on Dean Street occupies a site with a surprisingly sacred past. Before it became a modern hub for comedy and new writing in the year 2000, the structure functioned as a synagogue. This history is hidden beneath the vibrant, neon-lit exterior that draws visitors in today. By repurposing this space, the theatre preserved a piece of local architecture while transforming its internal purpose from a place of religious congregation into a home for experimental performance and contemporary artistic development.
