Nuffield Lodge

Nuffield Lodge is a hidden architectural treasure that stands as the least altered of all the grand villas built within Regent's Park. Constructed between eighteen twenty-two and eighteen twenty-four, it was originally known as Grove House and designed by the celebrated architect Decimus Burton. It served as a bespoke bachelor residence for the geologist George Bellas Greenough, a man whose scientific interests helped shape the landscape of this exclusive estate. The house remains a quintessential example of Regency design, with its cruciform plan and neoclassical stucco finish preserving a sense of early nineteenth-century elegance that has largely vanished elsewhere in the city.
