You are standing outside the location of a blue plaque marking the birthplace of Alan Turing. In June of nineteen twelve, this building operated as the Warrington Lodge Medical and Surgery Home for Ladies. His parents, Julius and Ethel Turing, had returned to London from India specifically so their son could be born in the United Kingdom. Although the structure has since transitioned into a hotel, it remains the site where the life of the future father of modern computer science began.
