Berwick Park

Berwick Park stretches as a narrow, grassy strip along the edge of the Pacific Grove coastline, defined by the low stone walls that separate the manicured lawn from the jagged rocks below. The land originated as part of the Pacific Grove Retreat, a nineteenth-century Methodist summer camp where visitors lived in canvas tents. When the camp evolved into a permanent town, these green spaces remained open to preserve the dramatic ocean views once enjoyed by the campers from their tent flaps.
