The Folger Coffee Company Building stands out with its ornate, terra cotta facade covered in intricate floral and scrollwork designs. Built in nineteen oh four, it served as the headquarters for the J.A. Folger Company following the devastation of the earthquake and fire. James Folger started his business by selling coffee to gold miners, and this building became the center of his roasting operations. Even today, the aroma of roasting coffee beans occasionally wafts through the lobby of the grand building.
