The building at one hundred forty Maiden Lane features a curved, windowless brick facade that separates it entirely from the surrounding commercial storefronts. Architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed this structure in nineteen forty-eight as a high-end gallery for V. C. Morris, a gift shop owner. The internal spiral ramp, which winds upward around a central column, provided the structural blueprint for the later design of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
