American Conservatory Theater

The American Conservatory Theater, known to locals as ACT, has occupied this landmark building since 1967. The theater itself, now known as the Toni Rembe Theater, dates back to 1910, constructed during the rapid rebuilding efforts following the Great Earthquake of 1906. It stands as a rare survivor of that era, having maintained its ornate, neoclassical facade of yellow brick and polychrome-glazed terra-cotta for over a century.
