Esther's Kitchen

Esther’s Kitchen is marked by a large, hand-painted mural of an Italian nonna on the side of the building. Chef James Trees opened the restaurant in twenty eighteen, naming it after his great-aunt Esther, who taught him how to make pasta by hand in her kitchen. Before this spot opened, the neighborhood was largely ignored by the city’s restaurant scene. Trees turned a forgotten industrial space into a destination that serves seasonal dishes, like sourdough pasta, rooted in family recipes.
