Fun City Motel Neon Sign

historic

The Fun City Motel neon sign features a stylized, cursive script topped with a tall, metal arrow that once blinked in sequence to draw drivers off the highway. It stands as a rare survivor of the mid-century roadside era, when motels competed for customers with increasingly frantic displays of light. In nineteen sixty-four, the owner installed this sign to outshine the competition, only to watch the highway bypass the strip a few years later. The lights now stay dim most nights.
