Two eighteen-wheeler trucks are welded together in a vertical corkscrew, their cabs pointing toward the sky. Mike Ross built the structure for the Burning Man festival in two thousand seven, using salvage from a scrapyard. The trailers spiral upward, creating a hollow tunnel that allows people to climb through the chassis. It arrived in Las Vegas after years of touring and now occupies a space near the downtown casinos, a tower of rusted steel standing against the desert horizon.
