Downtown Container Park

other

The Downtown Container Park is a collection of forty-three repurposed shipping containers stacked into a three-story open-air shopping and dining complex. The structure features a forty-foot-tall praying mantis sculpture at the entrance that shoots flames from its antennae after dark. Tony Hsieh funded the project in twenty thirteen to create a gathering space for the community. The containers provide a modular framework for small businesses that otherwise struggled to find affordable storefronts in the neighborhood.
