Starrett–Lehigh Building

The Starrett-Lehigh Building is a massive nineteen-story structure that occupies an entire city block in Chelsea. When it opened in nineteen thirty-one, it functioned as a high-tech freight terminal for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. Its design allowed trains to enter the ground floor directly, while gargantuan freight elevators lifted entire delivery trucks to every single level of the building. This logistical efficiency was so revolutionary that the building promoted itself with the slogan every floor a first floor.
