St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral

You are approaching the only example of Moscow Baroque architecture in the United States. This architectural style, which emerged in the late seventeenth century, is defined by its exaggerated, bold features and dynamic curves. The facade you see is a decorative display of red brick, gray stone, and limestone trim, accented by intricate cherub faces carved into the rooftop arches. Five onion-shaped domes, each topped with a gilded cross, crown the structure to create a silhouette that stands in stark contrast to the surrounding city blocks.
