The Brick Theater

The Brick Theater began in two thousand two when founders Michael Gardner and Robert Honeywell converted an old auto repair shop into a performance space. They stripped away the grease and mechanics to install a stage and seating, deliberately choosing a raw, industrial aesthetic to foster experimental works. This location anchored itself as a hub for the independent arts scene by hosting recurring festivals that focused on specific, narrow themes like puppets, satire, or even bad poetry. It proved that a professional venue could thrive in an unpolished space by prioritizing the creative vision of local playwrights over expensive stage production.
