Clivner=Field Plaza

The Clivner-Field Plaza occupies what was once a busy city thoroughfare on East 25th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues. Before its transformation into a pedestrian space, the block saw roughly three hundred vehicles pass through every hour, creating a difficult environment for students and residents to navigate. To clear the way for the current plaza, the city closed the street to traffic in 2012, effectively ending a long-standing pattern where twenty thousand people crossed the street mid-block every single day.
