Repertorio Español

Repertorio Español occupies a building with a history as eclectic as the performances it hosts. Before it became a home for Spanish-language drama in 1972, the structure functioned as a Swedish Baptist church in the late nineteenth century. Over the decades, it also served as a tenement, a dress shop, and a meeting hall. Today, this space in Kips Bay serves as an anchor for Latin American, Spanish, and Hispanic-American theater, housing a rotating selection of plays that bring works by writers from across the globe to a New York stage.
