Greeley Square Park

Greeley Square Park sits on a small triangular slice of land carved out by the intersection of Broadway and Sixth Avenue. While it is named for the influential newspaper editor Horace Greeley, the park hides a secret in plain sight on its gateposts. The bronze eagles perched there serve as a direct nod to the masthead of the New York Tribune, the very newspaper Greeley launched in eighteen forty-one.
