Imperial Theatre

The Imperial Theatre stands on a unique geographical quirk of midtown Manhattan. Its main entrance on forty-fifth street is incredibly narrow, squeezed between two other buildings, because the Shubert brothers insisted on an address near the established theater hub of the time. However, the theater auditorium itself is actually located behind that lobby, situated primarily on forty-sixth street, where the land was significantly cheaper to acquire during the original construction in nineteen twenty-three.
