The Walter Kerr Theatre stands as a testament to the frantic pace of Broadway development in the early twentieth century. Built by the Shubert brothers in 1921, the entire structure rose in just sixty-six days, setting a construction record that stands to this day. Designed by the prolific architect Herbert J. Krapp, the building originally opened under the name the Ritz Theatre.
