The El Merosi Theater features a distinctive, bright turquoise dome that catches the sun against the Samarkand skyline. This venue serves as a specialized stage for historical fashion, where performers present reconstructed costumes spanning thousands of years of Central Asian history. Founder Valentina Erofeeva-Lenskaia began this project by researching ancient Sogdian wall paintings to recreate authentic textiles and jewelry. Her troupe stages shows that bring these vanished silhouettes to life, moving through the cycles of local dynasties and nomadic life.
