Museum of Regional Studies

The Museum of Regional Studies occupies a nineteenth-century house with light blue shutters and intricate white carved wooden trim. Originally built for the wealthy merchant Abram Abramovich Kalantarov, the mansion served as a grand residence before the Russian Revolution. After the family fled during the political upheaval of the early twentieth century, the building transitioned through various roles, including a children's home and a communal dwelling, before finally being repurposed to display the cultural artifacts, traditional clothing, and historical records of the Samarkand region.
