Hamid Olimjon Nomidagi Drama va Musiqa Teatri

The Hamid Olimjon Theater is defined by the massive, relief-carved concrete facade that wraps around its exterior, depicting scenes of Uzbek music and dance. Built in nineteen seventy-eight, this venue serves as the primary stage for regional drama and musical performances in Samarkand. It takes its name from the twentieth-century poet Hamid Olimjon, whose verses celebrate the spirit of the region. Local actors once rehearsed their plays here while the building still smelled of fresh paint and wet cement during its opening season.
