Niels Bohrs grav

A plain, circular stone block rests low to the ground in the Assistens Cemetery, marked simply with the name Niels Bohr. It sits in a quiet corner of the oldest burial ground in Copenhagen. Bohr spent his life reshaping how we understand the atom, proposing the model where electrons orbit the nucleus like planets around a sun. During the second world war, he famously smuggled his Nobel Prize medal out of Denmark by dissolving it in acid to hide it from Nazi soldiers.
