The Church of Our Lady is defined by the twelve massive, white plaster statues of the apostles that line the nave, standing watch over the white marble baptismal font shaped like a kneeling angel. This is the cathedral of the Church of Denmark, where royal weddings and coronations have taken place for centuries. During the British bombardment of Copenhagen in eighteen oh seven, a Congreve rocket struck the tower, setting the roof on fire and destroying the medieval structure completely.
