Anse de la Batterie des Lions

The Anse de la Batterie des Lions is a small, rocky cove marked by a massive, hollowed-out concrete arch that frames the Mediterranean. This structure remains from a nineteen-forties coastal fortification built by the German army. Local fishermen once stored their small boats here, but the military occupation carved a tunnel through the cliff to secure the shoreline. Today, the salt-weathered concrete bridge holds the jagged rocks together, serving as a reminder of the era when this cove became a defensive battery.
