Anse de Malmousque

The Anse de Malmousque is a tiny, jagged inlet defined by the dense cluster of white, weathered fishermen’s cottages that hug the rock face. For centuries, this bay functioned as an independent maritime enclave, insulated from the city by the surrounding hills. In the nineteen twenties, the French Navy purchased the neighboring rocky outcrop to establish a training base for their elite commandos. The swimmers and soldiers often slipped into the cove, blending into the daily rhythm of the local fishing boats.
