The concrete terrace of Les Bains Militaires hangs over the Mediterranean, identified by the rusted metal stairs that descend directly into the sea. Built in the nineteen thirties, the facility served as a dedicated swimming and recovery spot for soldiers stationed in Marseille. A captain from the local garrison insisted on the construction to provide his men with a space for physical exercise and sun exposure, far removed from the city's crowded public docks. The concrete remains, though the military left years ago.
