The storefront of Epicerie L'IDEAL is painted a distinctive, deep forest green that stands out against the pale, weathered stone of the surrounding street. Julia Sammut opened this shop as a place to stock ingredients she discovered while working as a food critic. She sources artisanal products directly from small-scale farmers and producers across the Mediterranean region. Instead of a standard grocer, the shelves hold jars of hand-harvested capers, bottles of unfiltered olive oil, and regional preserves meant for home cooks.
