Atelier des Lumières

The Atelier des Lumières occupies a former iron foundry that operated here from eighteen thirty-five until nineteen twenty-nine. Its high, cavernous walls were once blackened by the smoke of molten metal, but today they serve as a projection surface for immersive digital art exhibitions. Jean-Paul Maurey, the founder of the site, repurposed the industrial shell in two thousand eighteen to turn massive, windowless rooms into galleries. He chose this specific space because the raw architecture provides the scale required for light installations.
