Ateliers-musée Chana Orloff

The Villa Seurat studio features a distinct, rounded facade of glass and concrete that breaks the sharp lines of the surrounding houses. Chana Orloff built this home and workspace in nineteen twenty-six, choosing the modern style of architect Auguste Perret. She lived and sculpted here until the Nazi occupation forced her to flee to Switzerland. During those years, the German military seized the house, turning the artist's private sanctuary into a storage facility for looted items before leaving the space stripped and empty.
