Roseraie du Jardin des Plantes

The Roseraie du Jardin des Plantes sits behind iron railings, defined by a long, rectangular layout packed with nearly two thousand rose bushes. It was laid out in nineteen oh four by Jean-Claude Forestier, the curator of the city’s parks, who stripped away the old, cluttered beds to create a structured showcase for species roses and modern hybrids. When the bushes bloom, they form a dense, fragrant corridor where the paths are intentionally narrow, forcing people to brush against the stems as they pass.
