Reid Hall

Reid Hall is a grand building on the Rue de Chevreuse, easily recognized by the large, wrought-iron gates that open into a quiet courtyard hidden behind a high stone wall. Originally a porcelain factory in the early eighteenth century, it became a residence for American women studying art in Paris during the eighteen nineties. Elisabeth Mills Reid purchased the property to ensure these students had safe housing. Today, it serves as a global center for Columbia University, hosting students in the heart of Montparnasse.
