Rue-Pali-Kao Garden

park garden

The Rue Pali-Kao garden occupies a steep, terraced slope where a massive textile factory once stood. Before the city converted the space into public green, the land held the remains of an industrial complex that burned down in the late nineteen eighties. Local residents spent years fighting for this site to remain open space instead of becoming luxury housing. They succeeded, and now the garden features wild, unkempt vines and pathways that trace the forgotten footprint of the old factory walls.
