A wall covered in layers of bright, shifting paint defines this corner on Rue Dénoyez. Local artists claim this surface as a permanent, rotating canvas where spray paint marks change almost daily. It exists because neighborhood residents and property owners agreed to open the space for sanctioned graffiti, keeping the concrete thick with pigment. A decade ago, a mural of a man named Ben appeared here, becoming a fixture of the street, even as the images surrounding his face were painted over repeatedly.
