BAC Jean-Louis Cohen (Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine)

The Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine owes its existence to the ambitious vision of architect and historian Jean-Louis Cohen. Tasked by the French government in 1998 to conceptualize this institution, Cohen spent five years laying the groundwork to transform the Palais de Chaillot into a global center for architectural culture. He pushed for a space that would go beyond simple displays, aiming instead to bridge the gap between technical history and the daily experience of the built environment. Although he was removed from the project in 2003, his original framework remains the intellectual core of the galleries you are about to enter.
