Théâtre des Champs-Élysées

The Théâtre des Champs-Élysées was the first major building in Paris to be constructed entirely out of reinforced concrete. When it opened in nineteen thirteen, this material was seen as a radical and stark departure from the ornate, stone-heavy styles that dominated the city. The architects used concrete not just for its strength, but to achieve a clean, geometric silhouette that pushed the boundaries of modern design. This choice helped define the building as one of the city's earliest and most influential examples of the Art Deco movement.
