Embassy of Ireland, Paris

landmark

The Embassy of Ireland occupies a grand nineteenth-century mansion known as the Hotel de Breteuil. Architect Ernest Sanson designed this structure in eighteen ninety-two for the eighth Marquis de Breteuil, a member of a family deeply entrenched in French royal history. Its location at number twelve Avenue Foch places it in one of the most prestigious sectors of Paris, just a short distance from the Arc de Triomphe.
