René Binet Garden

The René Binet Garden occupies a quiet corner in the eighteenth arrondissement near the Porte de Montmartre. Opened in nineteen seventy-six, this green space serves as a functional neighborhood retreat rather than a grand historic monument. It is named after the French architect and decorative artist René Binet, who became famous at the turn of the twentieth century for designing the monumental entrance gate for the nineteen hundred World Fair in Paris. Binet was a pioneer in adopting organic, natural forms into his work, often drawing inspiration from scientific illustrations of microscopic sea life.
