Le M. Musée du Vin

You are walking toward Le M. Musée du Vin, a site that hides a subterranean secret beneath the streets of Paris. The museum is housed inside historic limestone quarries that were excavated as far back as the Middle Ages to provide building materials for the city. These dark, cavernous tunnels were eventually repurposed in the sixteenth century by the Minim friars, who recognized the cool, consistent temperature of the limestone as the perfect environment for aging their wine.
