Passy Park

The Jardin du Ranelagh stands on land that once served as a private pleasure garden for eighteenth-century aristocrats. In seventeen seventy-four, a local gatekeeper opened this space as a direct copy of the famous Ranelagh Gardens in London, complete with a rotunda for music and dance. Queen Marie-Antoinette frequently visited this spot to escape the rigid social protocols of Versailles and enjoy the music and balls held here.
