Musée de la Contrefaçon

museum

The Musée de la Contrefaçon is one of the most discreet museums in Paris. To enter this small, quirky institution, you must ring a doorbell to gain access to the private mansion that houses it. The building itself is an exact replica of an eighteenth-century townhouse from the Marais district, though it was actually constructed at the end of the nineteenth century for a wealthy antique dealer who wanted to recreate a lost piece of Parisian history.
