The ground beneath your feet holds records of human activity dating back over six thousand years. In nineteen ninety-one, construction workers digging in this area uncovered Neolithic dugout canoes and a yew bow, which remains the oldest bow ever discovered in Europe. These ancient inhabitants lived along a branch of the Seine, relying on the river for transport and trade long before the city of Paris took its modern form.
